2 ALPINAs In South Africa 33370101 (1986) Ice White/Black Leather - ALPINA BMW SA 333i (number 33370101) owned by Dennis Mitchell. Car Details: Number 101 of the 204 BMW SA advertised they would build. Available from April 1985 to August 1987. Basically a B6 with the 3.3 litre M30. This one has the Air Con option of the A/C or P/S choice the first buyer had. Made late Jan or early Feb 1986, PDI done March of same year. Alpina Big brake kit with e23 hydraulic type ABS option. B6 springs, dampers and arb's. 5spd, direct 5th dogleg getrag with 2.93 LS diff. Purpose built propshaft. 333i bootlid badge, the M stripe under it and the wheel centre badges all supplied by Alpina. MTech1 bodykit, steering wheel and std leather gearknob with dogleg shiftgate label. Uses Alpina 260kmh dash cluster with red needles and digital combi instrument. Car Details: Mine is a bit of a cross breed.In the mid to late 80's,when the E30 M3 was launched in Europe,it was decided NOT to bring the model to South Africa.BMW SA thus decided to bring out their own "M3", this being an Alpina Conversion E30,that carried the same engine as the 633i and the 733i, and was badged the 333i,with a full Alpina Conversion.The figures were 144Kw (about 200BHP),weighing in with 285Nm of torque.The car was built from 1985 until late 1987,and there were only 204 of these cars built.The car was badged with 16" Alpina rims,and Alpina badging emblazoned on the engine covers and dashboard.They were,as standard,3.2L engines,6 cylinder,but mine has a factory upgrade to 3.3L,which makes it slightly more powerful than the stock 3.2L.The car,as it stands,is a work in progress,and she doesn't look that good,due to standing for a while,but the engine is busy being redone and the odd bits of body work are being sourced and attached as they become available.
